AMMAN — The Arab Summit hosted by Jordan in late March stressed the Arab desire for peace and progress by ending the Palestinian-Israeli conflict based on the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative, Sima Bahous, Jordan’s permanent representative to the UN, said on Friday.

Bahous made the remarks on behalf of the Arab Group, in Jordan's capacity as head of the 28th Arab Summit, during a UN Security Council session titled "The Middle East including the Palestinian issue", the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Saturday.

She said that the Arab plan, which is still considered the most comprehensive and capable of reaching a historic conciliation, is based on Israel's withdrawal from pre-1967 occupied Palestinian and Arab territories, on addressing all final status issues and on ensuring Israel’s security and acceptance by all Arabs.

The message of peace is further evidence that Arabs want a comprehensive and permanent peace as part of a clear strategic choice, which Israel should perceive as being genuine, the Jordanian diplomat highlighted.

Bahous expressed the Kingdom's support to the outcomes of the January 15 Paris peace conference that renewed the international community's commitment to the two-state solution as the only means to realising permanent peace.

The ambassador voiced the utmost rejection of Jordan and all Arab countries to the unilateral Israeli measures that aim to alter the reality on the ground and minimise the chances of realising a two-state solution.

She called on Israel to abide by the relevant international resolutions, the most recent of which is UN Security Council Resolution 2334 that calls for a cessation of settlement building on occupied Palestinian land.

On the Syrian crisis, Bahous urged the international community to share the burdens faced by host countries, through increasing financial aid and continuing to deliver the necessary services to refugees.

The diplomat also expressed support to Iraqi efforts to uproot terrorist organisations and liberate Mosul from the Daesh terror group, urging the world to support Baghdad's efforts to maintain stability in liberated areas, through achieving national reconciliation and adopting an inclusive political process.

The Kingdom supports the Arab Coalition in aiding the legitimate government in Yemen and ending the crisis based on the Gulf initiative and Security Council Resolution 2216 (2015), Bahous stressed, further underlining the importance of realising security and political stability in Libya and Somalia.

She also expressed concern over the growing trend of Islamophobia and attempts to associate Islam with terrorism, warning that such schemes only serve terror groups and their deviated ideologies.

Jordan and all Arab countries are keen on having good relations with countries neighbouring the Arab world, she highlighted, while at the same time rejecting any attempts  to interfere in Arab affairs and destabilise security and spread sectarian conflicts, the diplomat concluded.

Direction of peace in Philippines: What do you think about this way?

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – President Duterte may still pursue peace with the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) even if peace negotiations with the group have folded.

“In due time this will be resolved because this is no longer about ideo-logy but about the Filipino people,” the President said, referring to conflicts in Mindanao, including the one with the communist rebels.

The interest of the people, he added, should be above anything else even when ideologies remain respected.

In his visit to Surigao City yesterday, Duterte said he remained hopeful that things would look up for the earthquake victims and for all in Mindanao “once peace will prevail in the island.”

“I tried everything, I walked the extra mile, released prisoners, released their leaders so they can go to Oslo (Norway) to talk, and now they want 400 prisoners who fought the government under a rebellion released. This will (be) only given after a successful talk. What is there to talk about if I would release them?” the President added.

Yesterday, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) condemned the New People’s Army (NPA), the communists’ armed unit, for recruiting children to cope with its dwindling number of combatants.

The Army 28th Infantry Battalion reported that Rhea Liza Davis, a 13-year-old Davao Regional Athletic Association (DAVRAA) athlete, was recruited by the rebel group and eventually separating the girl from her family.

Leonila Davis, the girl’s mother, sought military help after efforts to recover her child failed.

The younger Davis was reportedly taken by Evelyn Hermocilla, who goes by the aliases Kara and Riza, on Jan. 30 in Buso, a mountain barangay of Mati town in Davao Oriental.

Hermocilla, who belongs to Section Committee 18, Sub-Regional Committee 2 of the communists’ Southern Mindanao Regional Command, allegedly refused to return the girl despite Leonila’s pleadings.

Some residents reported seeing the girl crying while traveling with an armed group.

In a statement, the Army said 101 families from Kasunugan, Tampat, Cabucanan and Kawitan, all smaller communities of Barangay Buso, were forced to evacuate last week as people feared a forced NPA recruitment.

Colonel Reuben Basiao, 701st Brigade commander, and Buso chairman Lolito Andan appealed for help in recovering the girl as they distributed food packs to the displaced families.

Duterte also went to Butuan City yesterday to posthumously award Sgt. Marlon Balais a bronze anahaw leaf medal for his meritorious services to the nation. Balais, a scout leader of the 29th Infantry battalion, was killed in a firefight with NPA rebels in Agusan del Norte.

Also killed in the clash was Jerson Beto, a grade 11 student, and small-scale miner Pepito Tiambong.

The encounter happened a week after Duterte terminated the peace talks with the communist rebels and labeled them a terrorist group. The President decided to scrap the peace negotiations after the communists insisted on their demand to free more than 400 rebel leaders whom they claim to be political prisoners.

Duterte rejected the demand, which he described as tantamount to granting amnesty. Communist rebels then called off the unilateral ceasefire and stepped up attacks against government forces in various parts of the country.

Former president and now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada is backing Duterte’s declaration of war against the NPA although he continues to hope that peace negotiations would resume.

He said the communists have all the reasons to fear Duterte’s wrath because the President never backs down from a fight.

“They should fear President Duterte. Let us see if the President will still give them a chance,” Estrada said when asked about the NPA going head-to-head against Duterte.

The CPP, in a statement, said an all-out war would fail and that defeating the NPA is only a Duterte pipedream.

“Other regimes before him have tried and failed,” the CPP said.

The NPA was tagged as a foreign terrorist organization by the US State Department and as a terrorist group by the European Union Common Foreign and Security Policy. Its estimated strength has since dwindled to less than 3,000.

Estrada said Duterte was right when he suspended the unilateral ceasefire in reaction to the atrocities and ceasefire violations committed by the NPA in the past weeks, but stressed that he supports another round of peace talks.

He recalled his days when, as president, he ordered the Moro Islamic Liberation Front camps and territories wiped out during his war against terrorism, noting that he gave the group enough opportunities to talk with the government.

“I talked to them for about three months then in the fourth month, they burned down Kauswagan (Lanao del Norte). Many innocent civilians, mostly children were killed, and they even beheaded six soldiers,” Estrada said.

Estrada said the MILF raid on Kauswagan was the last straw.

Ghadzali Jaafar, MILF vice chair for political affairs, said they are not affected with the collapse of the government’s talks with the NPA, adding that the administration’s negotiation with the Moro people is distinct.

He welcomed the recent announcement of new members of the expanded Bangsamoro Transition Commission – a body that will draft the new Bangsamoro enabling law as part of the implementation process of the southern peace pact or the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro signed between the Philippine government and the MILF in March 2014.

The foundation of World Peace

On 25 May, 2013, Heavenly Culture World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) hosted the Walk for World Peace and Restoration with International Peace Youth Group (IPYG) as a global peace movement. Over 30,000 youths from 130 countries came together to join the peace walk, which became an annual peace event that continues to appeal to the global community by performing a collective action to raise awareness of the peace movement at both the local and global level.

In September 2015, in the 1st Annual Commemoration of the WARP Summit, the HWPL International Law Peace Committee with international law experts was launched to discuss practical ways to enhance and introduce applicable legal mechanism for the achievement of world peace. For this purpose, the draft of the Convention on the Renunciation and Cessation of War and International Armed Conflicts was presented to further develop into a binding legal frame for the global community to protect our globe from threats of violence and conflict.

The DPCW is a declaration drafted by the HWPL International Law Peace Committee and proclaimed on March 14, 2016. Consisting of a preamble and 10 articles, the declaration describes the responsibility for the global community (especially states) to participate in safeguarding the comprehensive efforts for the establishment of world peace, which includes prohibition of the use of force, blockage of sources of conflict, cooperation among states, dispute settlement through international legal organizations, freedom of religion, and development of a culture of peace.

At last October 27th, ‘Discussion on the Action Plan of the HWPL Peace Advocacy Committee’ hosted by IWPG (International Women Peace Group) and IPYG (International Peace Youth Group) was held at Kano Hospital Digital Conference Hall in Kano, Nigeria. About 20 representative members in the ‘Patriotic Youth Organisation of Nigeria’ (PYON) and around 30 audiences attended this seminar and devised practical plans for supporting the DPCW (Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War) and advocating the ‘Implementation of the International Law’ for peace. The PYON is a cooperating group with HWPL for peace activities in Nigeria, whose membership has reached 20, 000. It has diverse field members, including professors, lawyers, and journalists. It has tried to make their community a better place for Nigerians to live.

At the DPCW by the global community through the global peace summit, held in Republic of Korea, named the World Alliance of Religions’ Peace (WARP) Summit, PYON chairman, AbdulAziz Seymour Omololu delivered a speech, where he highlighted the importance of civil society’s role in raising public awareness and collective action for peace-building projects.

He said: “I’d like to introduce the 2nd Annual Commemoration of the WARP Summit and explain the Strategy Road map of the DPCW, and its action plan. And we will discuss how we drive the national support for it. We will decide how we collaborate and precede signature campaigns, as a way of support.”

After watching the video, Mr. Adam Sa’id, Vice president of PYON, said: “I was very excited by the audience reaction, which showed that they really understood what the DPCW is all about and their readiness to give their contribution of developing and making it a legally binding document. I also felt extremely happy to see that the audience was really impressed with the letter from the chairman of HWPL, Man Hee Lee.”

The DPCW was drafted with the intent of promoting the respect of fundamental human rights and an international law, and of further involving States in the active protection of those rights.

As a part of action plan, currently, ‘Discussion on the Action Plan of the HWPL Peace Advocacy Committee’ is the first step in realisation of peace in Nigeria.

In this regard, HWPL Peace Advocacy Committee in Kano State also holds monthly discussion to examine the results of their activities and to attain 20,000 signatures for supporting the DPCW. Nigeria takes one step forward to the real peace and is ready to propel drawing Nigerians’ attention on it with this discussion.

Although people of world didn 't significantly consider at beginning, someday peace would arrive for sure on the worldwide!

Conference in support of HWPL's work for Peace and Cessation of War

 

SEOUL, Nov 28: A conference aimed at advocating for the implementation of an international legal document compatible with the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) was convened by Heavenly Culture, World Peace, and Restoration of Light (HWPL) on Thursday in Coex Auditorium. Korean political officials, religious leaders, press, and citizens, a total of 1,000 people, gathered to demonstrate the urgency with which a legally binding document based on the principles of the DPCW must be implemented.

 

HWPL Chairman Man Hee Lee emphasized that the work of peace can no longer be put off and that the leaders must take action beyond mere lip service.

 

“Although we pass down something valuable to the next generations, would it really be an eternal legacy? Only when we pass on to successive generations an invaluable inheritance of a world free of wars, will we meet our responsibilities as leaders, citizens, and people of today. The international community has to acknowledge what is delineated in the DPCW and then modify and develop the current international legal systems.”

 

The advocacy conference sought to demonstrate how to remedy disparities caused by war and war-like activities throughout the world, and it also showed the concrete efforts and interests of participants in creating an environment for peace-building.

 

Chairwoman Nam Hee Kim of the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) said that women’s leadership and participation improves the likelihood of the success of the global peace process.

 

“Sustainable peace is yet being waited for. What can explain this? That is because peace is not something that can be achieved by the authority or power of politicians or noble men. However, despite many obstacles, the work of peace must be done. IWPG gathers the 3.6 billion women of the world and actively works for the Declaration to be adopted by the UN. This legal framework will become a fundamental enforceable law for the generations to come.”

 

Eight panelists representing government, civil society, university, and faith-based organizations each spoke respectively about their explicit support for the Declaration and urged that the leaders at all levels should cooperate with HWPL’s work for peace and cessation of war.

 

Yu-Hyuk Kim, tenured emeritus professor of Dan-Kuk University said, “Why is it that the globe sounds the same pitch in spite of the differences in language, skin color, culture, and life style? The only reason is this. We all have the same purpose of achieving the world of peace without wars. In reality, it is to make a better future and ideally, it is to infinitely settle peace and realize the far-reaching universal value of humanity.”

 

He continued, “This work has been proclaimed by many, but HWPL Chairman, the greatest peace advocate, is beyond the proclamation and always on the move to bring forth peace. Today, this conference serves as a significant platform to urge leaders and citizens to support the implementation of international law inspired by the DPCW and be resolute to work for peace with the peace advocate.”

 

The 2016 Conference in Support of HWPL's Work for Peace and Cessation of War brought the Korean leaders to the forefront of international peace and security and presented their creative partnerships to inspire the world in the peace-building arena under the banner of the DPCW.

Rock music is a genre of popular music that originated as "rock and roll" in the United States in the 1950s, and developed into a range of different styles in the 1960s and later, particularly in the United Kingdom and the United States. The sound of an electric guitar in rock music is typically supported by an electric bass guitar, which pioneered in jazz music in the same era, and percussion produced from a drum kit that combines drums and cymbals. This trio of instruments has often been complemented by the inclusion of other instruments, particularly keyboards such as the piano, Hammond organ and synthesizers. The basic rock instrumentation was adapted from the basic blues band instrumentation (prominent lead guitar, second chordal instrument, bass, and drums).
